I'm soooooooo excited. :woohoo: I've been looking at getting a new embroidery machine for quite a while, but they are sooooo expensive. I looked, I sampled, I toyed with the idea, I moaned on and on to my fiance about it in a dreamy wishful "if only" voice.... So he bought it for me! I can't even begin to tell you how over the moon excited I am. It's the Husqvarna Viking Designer Diamond Deluxe. I was just going to get the regular Diamond, but he said as long as we're spening $$$, we may as well get the top of the line. ...... and I love love love it!

Now I can embroider HUGE designs up to 14" x 13". I can't even imagine how long it would take to do a design that big or how much thread it would take. Guess I'll just have to try it and find out. lol.

A couple of years ago I had purchased some Night Before Christmas embroidery designs from emblibrary.com. They are really cute. Unfortunately, I purchased the wrong size for my machine. The machine I was using at the time was a Husqvarna Viking Designer SE which has a 6" wide sewing field and I bought the 8" square designs. Oooops! I looked at splitting the designs, but didn't want the bother of splitting and aligning the fabric, blah...blah...blah, so I just filed the designs away and said "maybe someday..."

Now with the Diamond machine, I have an 8x8 hoop and the designs stitch out beautifully. I've made seven out of 30 so far and may even be able to get the quilt put together by Christmas. ;) Check out the designs on www.emblibrary.com and search for "night before christmas". They're adorable. Each block takes about three hours to sew out, so I'm doing a couple blocks a week when I can sequester myself away for that long.

Just had to share my exciting news. I'll post pictures of my new baby soon. eeeeeeee :silly: :woohoo: :silly:

Well, I've made 18 out of 30 blocks so far. The Diamond makes it soooooo easy! I love this machine. Each block takes about 3 hours to sew out, so the quilt isn't going to get done quite on schedule, but at least I'm making real progress. :)
